Work and home

Ooh man the last weeks have been busy. We had a lot of work on the boat and I have to admit: more than I expected. Apart from the normal maintenance we had to change the main sail as the old one was full of mold and with no profile left.

The main problem turned out to be the furler of the Genoa it was stuck and just didn't turn at all even after dismantling it and changing heaps of parts, which got mailed from Germany. There was no way to get the bloody thing working again so we had to decide to buy and install a new one. This wasn't a cheap day gggrrrr.

But it's not all problems we are enjoying life on the boat, it is becoming our home and the bigger size definitely makes a huge difference. We especially enjoy having the nice double cabin in the back and during the last weeks with a lot of wind and some heavy thunderstroms the boat was stable like a house, we could really feel all the weight of "Gina".  She for sure won't be a racer.

So life goes on and we still hope to go to Sicily soon. In the meanwhile we will do some work on the gland on the rudder shaft and going for a good pizza now and then.
