Australian Open Of Surfing by Hurley
During the week from 7 to the 15 of February there was the Australian Open Of Surfing, a huge surfing and skateboarding event.
Pros and amateurs from all over the world came together for a week of fun, sport and action. Hurley the main sponsor really did a perfect job and during the week 170000 spectators joined the sportsmen.
I went out with my trusty Fujifilm X100S and tried to shoot some photos. For me it was the first time trying to capture an action sport like skating while relaying mainly on manual focus.
I am very pleased with the outcome and some of the monochrome photos capture the atmosphere very well.
A huge crowd, unbelievable moves on the boards and some deep falls.
