Our stay at the ACI Marina Dubrovnik

Some time ago I mentioned that EraOra's "home" for this winter would be the ACI Marina Dubrovnik. Almost a month has passed since our return on the boat and we are still trying to get her ready for the next season.

Due to the really bad weather all the planned work got delayed. This might be a good opportunity to show you around, just to give you an impression where we are passing our days....not that bad ;-). We actually really like the place and the Marina offers everything you need there is a supermarket just around the corner, a couple of bars and coffee shops, a good transport connection to Dubrovnik Old Town, two marine chandlers and some good friends too.

UPDATE: Unfortunately the service quality and overall feel in the marina probably due to some changes in the management has definitely taken a turn for the worse. Dubrovnik Marina has basically become a loud and messy charter marina loosing all its original charm. Almost all the private boats have left this harbour as not more welcome. Charter Crews only pls. Ok, but …

There is a ray of light, about 10 miles north there is a new small Marina, called Marina Veljko Barbieri in the village of Slano. Wonderful staff, clean safe and new structure and a welcome feeling for every tired sailor with his boat. The marina restaurant Perast with its wonderful dishes is the icing on the cake.
